Beach Wedding in Spain: Oliva, Costa Blanca
Weddings on the beach are among my favorites. In Spain there are many beautiful beaches and in the Mediterranean side, next to “Costa Blanca” we have some of the most valued ones. It was summer, it was hot and there was a cool breeze from the sea. What more could you ask than to meet a wonderful couple of newlyweds from England?
The wedding of Debbie and Carles was fun and cheerful. The ceremony was held in the municipality of Oliva, this summer. Debbie and Carles an international couple. Debbie, her friends and family came from England for the celebration. Carles is Spanish, born and raised in Oliva but since a few years he has transferred in England where he lives with Debbie
Debbie and Carles chose Oliva beach to celebrate their wedding because this was the place where they met for the first time. It was a crush: they crossed on the shore and communicated overcoming the difficulties of languages. That day began their love story. And what better place where everything started, to celebrate with friends and family!
The story of this wedding begins at the home of Carles’ family. His parents are lovely people who made me feel always comfortable. Carles was a little bit nervous even though he did not show it much …. We did a series of photos of these moments of preparation. Then I walked a few steps aside where Debbie was changing, surrounded by friends and family. In this good atmosphere everything flowed with ease, the bridesmaids were almost as happy as the bride herself.
As a photographer I really like when couples just care about enjoying and having fun. The ceremony was simple and emotional. As a surprise worth mentioning the presence of some butterflies that were released at the end of the ceremony. Everything was very well organized for this wedding on the beach, the only thing that could not be avoided was that some curious turists approached to take a look. After the cerimony, we spent some time to take pictures of newlyweds, in that moment that the sun is falling and the sky offers us an impressive color palette.
The banquet was held a few steps away at the Kiko Port restaurant. The party was the most beautiful part of the wedding as the friends of Debbie come from England joined with friends of Carles creating a very special atmosphere. Laughs, smiles and some tears could bee seen while the bride and groom made their speeches as the Anglo-Saxon tradition recommends on these occasions.
After the banquet the grooms and their guests went upstairs to the second floor where a full party was waiting for them, with a video, a DJ and even a saxophonist hired for the occasion. Everyone really enjoyed this special day!
I want to thank Debbi and Carles for their trust and sympathy. Thank you guys, it has been a pleasure to meet you and being able to photograph this beautiful day. I wish you much happiness in this new stage of your lives!
