When Ed decided to propose to his girlfriend, it was a monumental moment. From the instant someone decides to spend the rest of their life with their partner, everything changes. Ed and Gabriella met a few years ago thanks to mutual friends, and gradually, they started sharing trips and experiences. Until one day, Ed was sure: he wanted to propose to Gabriella.
He thought the best place to do it would be during a trip to Europe, specifically in the charming city of Seville. Ed knew that such a special moment deserved to be documented, so he decided to hire a professional photographer to capture those moments and turn them into unforgettable memories. He contacted me, and together we planned the day and time for the big proposal.

The Engagement Session at the Plaza de España
Communication is key to capturing photos of a proposal without her noticing. In this case, we were at the Plaza de España in Seville. With so many tourists around, my presence with a camera wouldn’t raise any suspicion.
I arrived early to ensure I found the right spot and could take advantage of the perfect light. Being prepared is essential to capturing the moment and reacting quickly. When I saw Ed kneel down and present the ring to Gabriella, I started taking photos from a distance, gradually getting closer to avoid interrupting the magic of the moment.

It was then that I met Ed and Gabriella, a couple from the United States who were traveling in Spain. Gabriella said yes to Ed’s marriage proposal, and they were both excited and happy. We strolled through the beautiful Plaza de España, where we captured some couple photos. Then we headed to the nearby Parque de María Luisa to take more photos, aiming to reflect all the excitement of this charming couple.

Engagement photos at Metropol Parasol
Later, we said our goodbyes and agreed to meet again in the afternoon to take advantage of the best light for the session. We continued the photo session in Seville, strolling through the picturesque streets of the city center. Ed and Gabriella were enchanted by the city, and when we finally reached the Metropol Parasol, it was a magical moment.
We had previously planned to end the session at this spot, and without a doubt, it was an excellent choice. This monument, also known as “Las Setas de Sevilla,” is a masterpiece constructed entirely of wood. It provides wonderful shade to the plaza and, at the same time, is an attraction from which you can admire a unique view of the city.
I want to thank Ed for contacting me and for his trust, and Gabriella for her kindness and for allowing me to capture these very special moments. It was an honour for me to be the photographer of this Paparazzi proposal in Spain. I hope they enjoy this reportage for many years to come!
