I’d like to thank Peter and Oscar to choose me as their wedding photographer, It’s my first opportunity to photograph a couple of two grooms. Love is an universal feeling and as a Wedding Photographer I am happy to document it in all of it’s forms. This story starts in London, Oscar is from Valencia and moved to England some years ago, where he met Peter. After some years living together they decided to get married in Spain. I am happy that Spain has been one of the first places to recognize such an important right as marring whoever you love.
Oscar and Peter contacted me from London to photograph their wedding. We met on Skype and talked about the details of their photos and the wedding. They told me about their wedding in Valencia, in Vallesa de Mandor with many friends and family from Spain and England.
I told them the importance of taking some photos before the wedding to know each other and brake the ice. The so called Engagement session or simply E-Session. Oscar confessed me he is a little shy with cameras but I told him not to worry, the photo shooting would be fun and easy. We decided to go at El Saler, a typically Valencian landscape with woods and the beautiful pond of La Albufera.
The day we met was cloudy, it was as if the London climate was following Peter and Oscar. When we arrived to El Saler it started raining, something quite unusual in Valencia, but we did not loose hope. We sat in a bar and talked about the wedding details waiting the rain to stop. Finally when I was thinking of some different place to go, the rain sopped. So we started taking some photos in the woods, with a nice light coming through the trees.
Cloudy days are not bad at all to take photos. The light is soft and is perfect to take some interesting portraits without hard shadows. We passed by the Mirador de la Albufera, a little harbour on the pond and then followed to El Palmar, a small village of fisherman. We had fun taking these portraits with a London flavour.
I hope you like them.
