El Garbí
With Rocío and Javi we spent a fun afternoon with a wonderful light in the Garbi. We chose this location for their pre wedding photo shooting and I think we were right. Garbi is a great mountain that stands in the Valencian community, is one of the jewels of the Natural Park of Sierra Calderona, about 3 miles from Serra. It is an extraordinary vantage point from which you can see from the province of Castellón to the Albufera. An ideal place to spend a few hours enjoying fabulous scenery and cool off during summertime.
For me as a Wedding Photographer is very important to gain the trust of the couples I photograph. Among a photo and another we knew each other a little bit more. Rocio and Javi make a very good couple, during the engagement session they have been cracking jokes and pranks all the time! They take things with humor, as when we got lost on the way and had to give a longer back. They like nature and often come together to Garbí to walk and then lunch at a nearby restaurant that apparently makes some of the best paellas in the region.
The Wedding in Burjassot:
On the wedding day we start the photo shooting in the house where Javi is getting ready, with the help of his mother. He is quite calm but the excitement of the moment can bee seen in his eyes. We caught a few pictures and a few details shoots before moving to the bride’s house. Rocío awaits us in the house of her parents, she is radiant and serene. The house offers a light and ideal decorations to portray the bride along with her family and friends. Gradually more friends and family arrive to the house and you can tell the great moment is arrving.
The ceremony was held at the Ermita de San Roque, a small church in central Burjassot. The atmosphere is intimate and friendly, Rocio and Javi are excited and happy when they utter the “Yes I do” in front of all the guests. Rocio and Javi pass through the door of the church as husband and wife and receive a shower of rice from the guests. After the congratulations of their loved ones, we made some portraits in the outer area, next to the church. Finally, after some group photos, Rocío and Javi reach the car Volkswagen Beetle thatis waiting to take them to the party venue.
This is when something unexpected happens. Something that all wedding photographers are afraid might happen. My faithful Renault car, which has never left me down at this time decides not start. What to do? We first try to fix the problem with the limited knowledge we have in this field. Finally after a few unsuccessful attempts we try to stay calm and decide we‘d better take a taxi. The luck is offering us a taxi large enough to contain the background we are carrying for the Photocall. We reached the place of the banquet few minutes later the couple, without major problems.
The banquet and celebration held at the Farmhouse Kukala in the town of Pobla de Farnals, not far from Valencia. A sleek and modern salon for weddings located amongst orange groves. There we have the opportunity to make several pictures from the party, friends and all those moments that will be part of the memory of this day. Hugs, kisses and bouquets were the ingredients a very special party. After cutting the cake Javi and Rocío went out into the yard where they started the dance. And the party had just begun …
