Wedding photography in Italy, with Nuria and Diego
Lake Como is a wonderful setting for a wedding or for a Trash The Dress photo shoot . This time I had the privilege to accompany Nuria and Diego in the villages of Bellano and Corenno for a photo session after their wedding. I have a special fondness for Lake Como, this is the area where I have my roots. My family is originally from Dervio, a small town of the lake and here my father lives in an old house I’ve known since I was born.
Nuria and Diego are a wonderful, joyful and happy couple. They got married a few weeks ago in Spain, near Cuenca and wanted to have a special memory of this time in their lives. We plan to make this photo session during their honeymoon in Italy. Before Lake Como We stayed two days in Venice where we did another photo shooting. We started taking photos in the town of Bellano, famous as the town of Renzo and Lucia, protagonists of the book “I Promessi Sposi” a classic of Italian literature of the writer Alessandro Manzoni.
Lake Como has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and wealthy people since Roman times, and a very popular tourist attraction with many artistic and cultural gems. It has many villas and palaces (such as Villa Olmo, Villa Serbelloni, and Villa Carlotta). Many famous people have or have had homes on the shores of Lake Como, such as Matthew Bellamy, Madonna, George Clooney, Gianni Versace and Ronaldinho.
Lake Como is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. (from Wikipedia)
Wedding photography can be a memory of an experience and can help us remember the great moments in our lives. I always try to take natural photos because I want to tell the rel story. When I travel to Italy it’s easier for me to take special photos because I was born here and know the places and the people.
We arrived in the afternoon and we made portraits in the small port of Bellano. The couple are happy just as the day of the wedding. The shooting continues with Nuria and Diego in the old part of the small town. Then we drove by car to another small town of Lake Como: Corenno. A small town with a special charm. This day there was almost no one in town and it seemed the time had stopped. As in a dream the couple explored the hidden corners of the place until reaching the lake.
When we reached the bottom of Corenno, they were 2 very nice women who invited us to visit their garden to take some pictures. The light was amazing, the sun disappearing down behind the mountains coloured the sky with wonderful colours. It appeared a swan in the lake and got included in a photo reportage.
I want to thank Nuria Diego for their collaboration and complicity to make these pictures. For me it was a very special experience as a wedding photographer, taking photos in the Como lake as it is for me an opportunity to discover the wonders of this place I know from my childhood.
Thanks Nuria and Diego!
This is a small selection of the pictures we do, I hope you like them as much as I do.
