I feel so lucky to be a wedding photographer living in the south of Spain: the light is beautiful in all the coast, from Alicante to Valencia. Those photos were taken some time after the wedding of Sandra and Nestor, not far from Alicante, in the south of Spain. Moraira is a small village on the coast, surrounded by wonderful landscapes. It’s a beautiful place to take photos with natural light, specially in the late afternoons when the sunset paints the sky with colors. We met next to the antique Castle of Moraira, a building of the VII century next to the sea.
This day the village was very calm without many tourists, so we could capture the essence of the place in all his splendor. As a wedding photographer I always prefer to take pictures where there are not too many people, I think this helps the bride and groom to relax and to be natural. So we were lucky, Sandra and Nestor enjoyed the experience and the feeling of wearing again their wedding dress and suit.
Sandra’s wedding dress was really special and unique, made by a Lebanese designer. A good friend of mine, helped us assisting the bride during the photo shooting. Sandra and Nestor where relaxed and happy, they just came back from their honeymoon in New York. We talked about their wedding day and how they felt everything passed so fast.
This photo session was almost a “Trash The Dress”, as wikipedia defines:
“Trash the dress”, is a style of wedding photography that contrasts elegant clothing with an environment in which it is out of place. It is generally shot in the style of fashion or glamour photography. Such photography often takes place on a beach, but other locations include city streets, rooftops, garbage dumps, fields, and abandoned buildings. The woman often wears a ball gown, prom dress or wedding dress, and may effectively ruin the dress in the process by getting it wet, dirty, or, in extreme circumstances, tearing or destroying the garment.
But in this case the dress did not get ruined, we just expose it to a little adventure! 🙂
We started taking photos next to an old car of a friend of the bride and groom. Next we used the castle in the background to create some romantic images. Finally we moved to the beach for some other portraits after the sunset. The whole photo shooting lasted less then two hours. This is a selection of the photos I like best. Thank you Sandra and Nestor for giving me this opportunity, I hope you will enjoy you the photos as much as I do!
